Instrumental and Vocal Tuition

We have a team of twenty outstanding visiting instrumental teachers who support over 300 pupils every week across the First, Middle and Senior School.
These specialist teachers offer lessons in all the orchestral instruments, piano, guitar (electric, bass and acoustic) percussion, church organ and voice for pupils from Year 3 in the First School and across all year groups in the Middle and Senior Schools.
Pupils are prepared for the practical examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Rock School, Trinity Guildhall and London College of Music.
Pupils are also supported in the theory of music and entered termly for ABRSM theory exams including Grade 5 Theory. Pupils can join one of two Theory Clubs or can also receive one to one theory tuition from one of our visiting specialists.
ABRSM examinations take place termly in school: KPS has a reputation for outstanding results including many distinctions and merits at both the beginner grades and the more advanced levels of Grades 7 and 8.
Pupils in Key Stage 1 in the First School can also benefit from our Key Stage 1 Strings Program which offer group violin and viola tuition to some of our very youngest pupils.
Kings Priory School also has a large bank of instruments and are able to loan instruments to students for a small annual fee.
