Year 6 prove to be model pupils

Further to their SATs, the Year 6 Maths teachers decided to give a project based homework.

Pupils were asked to design and make something to feature in the model village of Sheraton where everything is 25 times smaller than the original.

The staff were amazed and delighted by the models created and the detailed mathematics undertaken by pupils to ensure their models were to scale.

The effort from the entire year group was fabulous.

Mrs Ward-Williams, who is the Head of Maths, selected a winning model from each class and then an overall winner.

After an incredibly difficult selection process, the winners were:

Class winners

  • Amelie Arthur for her fun Skatepark
  • Faye Macdougall for her beautifully detailed house
  • Silver Hudspith Walker for her amazing pub design

Overall winner

  • Toby Baldwin for his impressive model of McDonalds

Well done to all of the winners and to everyone who took part.
