Kings Priory judged as best school in the North East for attainment

Kings Priory School has been ranked as the No. 1 school in the North East for attainment in The Real Schools Guide 2017.

The Real Schools Guide, now in its fifth year, is the most comprehensive guide ever to state-funded secondaries.

The unique rating system uses 25 different measures to score schools, put together from the latest publicly-available data and broken into four categories – attainment, teaching, attendance, and outcomes.

The guide factors in whether all pupils are making progress, what attendance is like, the ratio of teachers to pupils, and whether students go on to further education or jobs.

Kings Priory School came out as top school in the region for one of the four categories - pupil attainment - with a hefty five star rating to suit. The school also ranked second in the region for pupil attendance.

Earlier in the year The Chronicle named the school as having the joint best GCSE results in the North East last year, with 91% of pupils achieving at least 5 A*-C GCSEs including Maths and English. Amongst other top headlines 96% of pupils received an A*-C in Mathematics and in English.

The School's overall ranking in The Real Schools Guide has them sitting in the top 1000 state schools in England, sitting in 5th place in North Tyneside for the second year running.

The ranking represents exceptional progress for the academy, which is now in its fourth year of providing high quality education to over 1300 pupils aged 4-19.
