Welfare Curriculum

At Kings Priory School we place high value on our welfare curriculum. We endeavour to fully supplement the classroom curriculum through range of opportunities and experiences. These include discrete PSHE taught lessons, assemblies, chapel, visiting speakers and events and Chapter time.

Chapter time is a session in the week which allows all pupils to explore relevant personal, local, national and international topics. The aim of this is to provide the opportunity to reflect and learn within a safe and comfortable environment led by familiar faces from our pastoral teams.

See the relevant sections below for further details on how this is achieved at each stage of our school.

First School

In our First School PSHE is delivered by class teachers in discrete lessons.  The curriculum is carefully planned to satisfy all the statutory requirements of the RHE (Relationships & Health Education) and is underpinned by our core values of respect, tolerance and friendship.

Teaching is split into three topics (‘Heath & Wellbeing’, ‘Relationships’ and Living In The Wider World’) with each being taught over the course of one term.

For specific details on the lessons covered within each of these topics please see the documents below.
