The Sixth Form is often described as the most challenging and demanding, yet enjoyable and rewarding, time of your school career. This is certainly the case at Kings Priory School.
We offer an academic Post-16 curriculum where students choose from a suite of A Level subjects. The majority of students study three A Levels, with a small number choosing to study four. In almost all cases, there are five lessons in a week of each A Level subject, alongside whole year group activities such as our Games afternoon and our Support and Guidance programme. Additional academic opportunities include the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which can be studied in Year 12 or across the two years of Sixth Form, and Higher Sports Leaders Level 3.
We value academic achievement, have the highest expectations of our students and encourage wide participation in a range of enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities. We value all students' views and delight in their support in many day-to-day activities that help with the smooth running of the School.
So with easy transport links to both sides of the River Tyne and our location right next to the Metro in the heart of the coastal village of Tynemouth, where else would you want to study?
The best way to see what our Sixth Form is all about is to come and visit us. You will see our stimulating yet supportive and friendly school that recognises the significance of personal and corporate responsibility in a respectful community.
For further information on our Curriculum structure, please visit the Sixth Form Curriculum section of our website. Here you will find a visual representation of our Sixth Form curriculum, alongside videos and information on each of the subjects on offer.
